MODULE 4
Prospects for Struggle Today
Class 1: From Ferguson to minneapolis: a new era of rebellion
Tuesday, April 1 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM ET
Instructor: Phil Agnew and Ekundayo Igeleke
From Ferguson to Minneapolis to the streets of New York City, the past decade has seen mass uprisings against police violence and systemic racism. Millions have taken to the streets, demanding justice and exposing the deep failures of the state. In this class, we will examine the conditions that gave rise to these movements, their tactics, and their transformative potential. We will also reflect on the lessons learned—what do these uprisings reveal about the state of struggle today? How can we apply these lessons to the conditions we face today?
Closing Panel - What Is To Be Done? The Fight for Liberation Today
Thursday, April 3 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM ET
CLOSING FORUM
This closing panel is a space to reflect on the lessons of the course and draw from the insights of past and present struggles. We’ll explore strategies for organization, the role of solidarity and unity, and the revolutionary potential of today’s movements and the challenges faced here in the heart of the empire. This is a conversation meant to not only discuss our challenges, but rather it is a collective effort to chart a path forward. As we grapple with the demands of our times, this class challenges us to consider the lessons of this course as tools for building revolutionary struggle today.
