Module 1: Introducing National Liberation and Marxism
In 1992, following the collapse of the USSR, Francis Fukuyama declared ‘The End of History’, asserting that socialism not only had failed but was ultimately impossible, and that there was no alternative to the caby capitalist and imperialist governments and aims to erase our revolutionary history, divorce us from the science of Marxism, and dampen the potential and power of oppressed people. Despite this, Marxism and the struggle for socialism has not been defeated - it continues to struggle forward, stretching and adapting to each context, proving to be a tool of the working class to effectively wage struggle. We recover Marxism as a living methodology because we refuse to cede to the ‘end of history’, and instead, we are convinced that we will continue to make history, because it is struggle that drives history forward.

In 1992, following the collapse of the USSR, Francis Fukuyama declared ‘The End of History’, asserting that socialism not only had failed but was ultimately impossible, and that there was no alternative to the capitalist system. This cynical narrative has been championed by capitalist and imperialist governments and aims to erase our revolutionary history and dampen the potential and power of oppressed people. Despite this, Marxism and the struggle for socialism has not been defeated - it continues to struggle forward, stretching and adapting to each context, proving to be a tool of the working class to unveil the capitalist lies, understand the forces at play and organize for our future.
