SCIENCE AGAINST CAPITALISM: THE ROLE OF THE BIOPHYSICAL SCIENCES IN BUILDING A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE FOR ALL
Soil Sciences
With Salvatore Engel Di-Mauro
Soils, the main basis of our lives, are almost everywhere we live. Yet they get very little socialist attention despite how important they are. How can studying soils help us know more about the environment and also about ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and lessen the impacts of the climate crisis? How can soil science be combined with issues of social relations of power and the urgency of building a socialist future? What can we learn from socialist countries about building sustainable agricultural practices?
Join us for a seminar with Salvatore Engel Di-Mauro as we discuss applying a Marxist Method to soil science, urban agriculture, and critical physical geography.
