This course begins by setting the stakes. We are living through a confrontation between two Americas: one defined by the entrenched power of a wealthy, racist ruling class, and the other by a struggling working class that is becoming more favorable to socialist ideas as a way out. How did we get here? Where are we going? Over the course of our time together, we will dissect this struggle between classes and ask what it will take to fight for a world where we have nothing to lose but our chains.

How much is a trillion dollars and how do you actually get that kind of money? We will examine the rise of figures like Elon Musk and the amassing of a trillion dollars as a way to study exploitation and the nature of capitalism as an economic system that produces massive economic inequality not by accident, but by design.
